What is a Corporate Mind Reader?
Recently I have been contacted by several prospective clients from the corporate world who were requesting information on my act and just what exactly it is that I do. As a result I thought it appropriate to put together a brief post to outline what exactly IS a Corporate Mind Reader, and what a Corporate Mind Reader actually does.
Firstly a corporate mind reader isn’t some form of corporate mole that infiltrates departments within companies and reads the minds of under performing staff!
The only real time you should hear the term ‘Corporate Mind Reader’ is in an entertainment capacity at a corporate event or party.
To be a Corporate Mind Reader, you will essentially be a performer who specialises in ‘Reading Minds’ as a form of corporate entertainment. Mind Reading is a popular choice for a wide range of Corporate and Private events, such as Award Dinners, Trade Shows & Product Launches. As a corporate mind reader, I have been fortunate enough to perform all over the UK & Europe delivering unique entertainment that has seen me win various awards.
But isn’t it just Magic Tricks?
A Corporate Mind Reader is someone that has studied, and subsequently become an expert in the performance art of ‘Mentalism’. Mentalism does have its roots in performance magic but the techniques and subtleties are worlds apart. Whereas a traditional magician might rely on ‘sleight of hand’ to accomplish their tricks, a Mentalist, or in this case a Corporate Mind Reader will utilise an understanding of Psychology, Misdirection and ‘Sleight of Mind’ to achieve the desired effect of mind reading.
I am certainly not a traditional magician, although I have learnt a range of misdirection skills to fuse with his psychological techniques. I at times utilise little known and somewhat underground principles to convince my corporate audiences that I am a mind reader. However, I am adamant that my skills are not psychic or paranormal.
Corporate Mind Reader Shows
So if you are planning a corporate event in the near future and are considering hiring a corporate mind reader, then you will want to find out about the different types of shows and performances that they offer. The vast majority of corporate events will require one of two forms of entertainment. The first is the stage show, usually performed after dinner on stage for the whole group at once. This type of corporate show will be performed at larger events through a professional PA system and will involved large amounts of audience participation.
The second most popular type of show is a mix & mingle type of performance. The Corporate Mind Reader will stroll around the event and perform up close and personal. This is ideal for events such as parties and drinks receptions. There are also other types of acts that are better suited for specific types of corporate events. For example if you are exhibiting at a Trade show or a Conference then you may require a Corporate Mind Reader to act as a ‘Crowd Puller’, someone who can come in and generate interest in your business and increase potential sales.
I hope this has been useful to you and if you have any questions relating to this matter please don’t hesitate to get in touch via my enquiry form.
